Yarn Bombing – is described as street art that employs colourful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fibre rather than paint or chalk (from Wikipedia).
Over several weeks, EWG members knit squares and rectangles, crocheted flowers and granny squares, felted wool fibres into squares and wove samples of wool and cotton. Several Thursday evenings were spent stitching all the pieces together. On Monday, April 28, seven of our members met downtown and these pieces were wound around and stitched together on large trees in front of Enterprise Square. To see LOTS of pictures of the process from start to finish, please see our gallery “Yarn Bombing”.
Visit our trees on Jasper Avenue between 102 and 103 Streets.
