Spring Flowers Edition

Create your own beautiful flower painting with wool.  In this two day workshop, you will paint your own art from start to finish. Expertly guided by Brenda Foster and Mary Wilton you will felt a Canadian Landscape using wet and dry felting techniques, free motion quilt or straight stitch to capture the finest of details and stretch your piece on artist’s canvas ready for hanging.  Materials are provided; however, artists are expected to bring their own sewing machines. A sewing machine set for straight stitch will be available for use for beginner or non sewers.

Felted Hat

On day one  We will start by discussing shape and form. Students will then create their hat template and learn drafting techniques and start their wool layout.  On day two Students will complete the wool layout and use decorative fibres and materials to embellish on their templates. We will then use sanders to prefelt our layouts and begin the fulling process. On the last day Students will complete the fulling process of their hats and fit them on the hats blocks. Using a needle and yarn we will then manipulate our hats to our final designs.

Advanced Wet Felting – 3D Sculpture

Join us for a 2-day adventure working with a 3D resist to make a unique felted sculpture. This technique can be used to create bags, backpacks, and sculptural wearables – you are only limited by your imagination!  Basic wet felting is an asset for this class.
